POWDER COATING FOR GREEN BUILDINGS
The negative news in the last few years regarding our environment, found a lot feedback in the construction sector. Pulver powder coatings started different activities and studies. We did not supported ‘Green’ to became a trend, but support ‘green’ to save the resources.
As known powder coatings are environmental friendly and in conformity with VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds).
What is VOC?
The meaning of VOC is ‘Volatile Organic Compounds’. VOC is espacially responsible for the contaminaton of soil, groundwater and air. In powder coatings the VOC values are negligible low. As a result powder coatings ist the best choice for ‘green’ buildings. You can find the VOC certification for our construction projects from the link below.
VOC Certification Sample
The VOV values of powders coatings from Pulver are negligible low and in conformity with LEED.
What is LEED?

LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is founded in America and the best known and most accepted certification for green buildings. It was introduced in 1998 by the USGBC (U.S Green Building Council). In this system the buildings (or areas) energy saving, water efficiency, reduction of carbon dioxide, improved indoor quality an resource management is planed and build in accordance with the strategies to save the recources.
Buildings are evaluated with the six categories shown below.
1. Sustainable Sites
2. Water Efficiency
3. Energy and Atmosphere
4. Materials and Resources
5. Indoor Enviromental Quality
6. Innovation in Design
To earn the LEED certification you need at least 40 points and have to fulfill 8 preconditions before, during and after the construction. LEED green building system is defined by 4 Levels.
1. LEED Certification
2. LEED Silver Certification
3. LEED Gold Certification
4. LEED Platin Certification
